Habitat for Humanity Saskatoon invites you to be one of 100 women who will forever change the lives of a low-income, hard-working Saskatoon family. With your help we can achieve our goal and raise $100,000 in 100 days, this is enough to build a home in Saskatoon.
Imagine living on less $52,000 per year with 2 young children. Imagine paying over 60% of your monthly income for rent for a small apartment that is not safe for your family. Imagine having to choose between paying the power bill, so that the lights stayed on another month, and buying groceries. This is reality for too many Saskatoon families. With a shortage of over 5,900 affordable housing units in Saskatoon, the need for affordable housing has never been greater than now. Be a part of the solution.
Habitat for Humanity believes that everyone has the right to a safe, decent and affordable place to live and are the only charity in Canada that offers home-ownership as the means to break the cycle of poverty. With your support a family who could never before dream of owning their own home, will be able to benefit from home ownership. After purchasing a Habitat home, partner families’ lives are positively impacted for generations to come. After moving into a Habitat home:
- 34% of parents will move on to better paying jobs;
- 41% of children will see an improvement in their grades;
- 88% of children will feel an increase in their self-esteem;
- And 89% of all families will report a better home life.
In Regina 100 women reached their $100,000 goal in just 49 days, the women of Saskatoon can do it too! Join the group of Saskatoon women, inspiring other Saskatoon women to give a gift of $1,000. As women inspiring other women to give, we also invite you to offer this challenge to your colleagues, the office down the street or across the city.
